Click CONTINUE EDITING.\r\n\r\n2. Now you are looking at the Editor. On the top left of the Editor is the Menu. Click on it to see a number of options, such as SAVE. Click anywhere else on the screen and the Menu will disappear.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">b. Below the Menu is\u00a0a folder called MyMedia. It <strong>[pb_glossary id=\"665\"]displays[\/pb_glossary]<\/strong> all of the visual media you have uploaded. There is a grey <strong>[pb_glossary id=\"716\"]scroll bar[\/pb_glossary]<\/strong> on the right side of the area that holds all your visual media. If you click down on it and don\u2019t release your finger, you can move that bar up and down to see all of your media. Try this.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">c. Beside the media panel is a <strong>[pb_glossary id=\"704\"]Preview[\/pb_glossary]<\/strong> Screen. It has a button to rewind, play, and fast-forward. This space allows you to see what your digital story looks like while you build it. Press play and watch what happens.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">d. Along the bottom of the Editor is a Storyboard, similar to the one you made on paper. This is where you arrange your visual media in the right order, decide how long each image will <strong>[pb_glossary id=\"648\"]appear[\/pb_glossary]<\/strong>, and add a soundtrack.<\/p>\r\nIf you are using a\u00a0print version of this book, refer to the online version for videos that guide you through the steps below.\r\n<h1>Giving Your Digital Story a Title<\/h1>\r\n<iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/h95WzmBNFA4\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe>\r\n\r\n1. Find the first box in the storyboard. Hold your <strong>[pb_glossary id=\"692\"]mouse pointer[\/pb_glossary]<\/strong> over it.\r\n\r\n2. Click the EDIT button that appears.\r\n\r\n3. Click in the grey box. Type in a title for your digital story.\r\n\r\n4. Click the green DONE EDITING box.\r\n\r\n5. Click on the Menu and click SAVE.\r\n<h1>Adding Images to the Storyboard<\/h1>\r\n<iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YpgWLQfphCM\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe>\r\n1. <strong>[pb_glossary id=\"693\"]Note[\/pb_glossary]<\/strong> what image is supposed to appear first.\r\n\r\n2. Find the image in your MyMedia folder. Hold your <strong>[pb_glossary id=\"692\"]mouse pointer[\/pb_glossary]<\/strong> over it.\r\n\r\n3. Click the ADD button that appears. The image will appear in the storyboard at the bottom of the screen.\r\n<h1>Changing the Order of Images in the Storyboard<\/h1>\r\n1. Hold your <strong>[pb_glossary id=\"692\"]mouse pointer[\/pb_glossary]<\/strong> over the image you want to move. Move your mouse pointer to the sides of the image until the pointer turns to four arrows.\r\n\r\n2. Left-click and keep holding the mouse button down. The four arrows will turn to a grabbing hand. Move the mouse to position the image in the right spot. Let go of\u00a0the button when the image is in the right position.\r\n<h2>Deleting Images from the Storyboard\r\n<iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ov5a6jokpEU\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/h2>\r\n1. Hold your <strong>[pb_glossary id=\"692\"]mouse pointer[\/pb_glossary]<\/strong> over the image in the storyboard you want to delete.\r\n\r\n2. Click the trashcan button.\r\n<h2>Changing\u00a0the Timing of an Image<\/h2>\r\n<iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uWgi969TvVI\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe>\r\nYour goal is to get the images to match the voiceover in the way you planned on your paper storyboard.\r\n\r\n1. Click the rewind button under the preview screen. It looks like two arrows pointing backwards.\r\n\r\n2. Click the\u00a0play button. Watch the video to see how the image matches up with the voiceover. Decide whether the image\u00a0appears for too much time or too little time. Press the play button again to stop the preview.\r\n\r\n3. Hold your <strong>[pb_glossary id=\"692\"]mouse pointer[\/pb_glossary]<\/strong> over the right side of the first box in the storyboard. The pointer will change to two arrows. Click down on the mouse button and don't let go. Drag\u00a0the mouse to the left to make the image appear for a shorter time. Drag\u00a0the mouse to the right to make the images appear for a longer time.\r\n\r\n4. Click the rewind button.\r\n\r\n5. Click the play button.\u00a0Watch the\u00a0video to see whether the image\u00a0appears for the right amount of time. Press the play button again to stop the preview.\r\n\r\n6. Repeat steps 1\u00a0to\u00a05 until the image shows for the right amount of time. When that image is done, work on\u00a0the next image\u00a0right beside it.\r\n\r\nContinue these steps until the images match the voiceover in a way you are happy with.\r\n<h2>Adding a Soundtrack<\/h2>\r\n<iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0kfCMn2lO7U\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe>\r\n\r\n1. Click the MUSIC NOTE\u00a0button on the left side of the storyboard.\r\n\r\n2. Click the FREE MUSIC folder.\r\n\r\n3. Choose a folder with a name that\u00a0matches the tone of your story, such as \"Serious, sad, worried\" or \"Exploring, tension.\"\r\n\r\n4. Click on a song and listen to how it sounds. Repeat until you find one you like.\r\n\r\n5. Turn the volume down so viewers\u00a0will be able to\u00a0hear your voiceover above the soundtrack. To do this, click on the volume slider and don't let go of the button. Drag the slider to the left to make the soundtrack quieter.\r\n\r\n6. Click the USE THIS <strong>TRACK<\/strong> button.\r\n\r\n7. Rewind your digital story.\r\n\r\n8. Press the play button to see how everything looks and sounds together.\r\n\r\nYou can repeat these steps to choose a different song.\r\n<div class=\"textbox textbox--exercises\"><header class=\"textbox__header\">\r\n<p class=\"textbox__title\">Exercises<\/p>\r\n\r\n<\/header>\r\n<div class=\"textbox__content\">\r\n\r\nNazbah Tom is a Two-Spirit person from the Din\u00e9 Nation. A Two-Spirit person is an Aboriginal person who has both a <strong>[pb_glossary id=\"688\"]masculine[\/pb_glossary]<\/strong> and <strong>[pb_glossary id=\"675\"]feminine[\/pb_glossary]<\/strong> spirit. <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=j_QNVfNXEgY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mountain of Stories<\/a><\/em> is a digital story about when Nazbah came out to her mother as Two-Spirit. \"Coming out\" is the process of telling someone you are queer*, trans, or Two-Spirit. When people come out, they may experience the loss of friends and family, unfair treatment, and violence. A Two-Spirit person is an Aboriginal person who has both a <strong><a class=\"glossary-term\" aria-haspopup=\"dialog\" aria-describedby=\"definition\" href=\"#term_76_688\">masculine<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a class=\"glossary-term\" aria-haspopup=\"dialog\" aria-describedby=\"definition\" href=\"#term_76_675\">feminine<\/a><\/strong> spirit. <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=j_QNVfNXEgY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mountain of Stories<\/a><\/em> is a digital story about when Nazbah came out to her mother as Two-Spirit. &#8220;Coming out&#8221; is the process of telling someone you are queer*, trans, or Two-Spirit. When people come out, they may experience the loss of friends and family, unfair treatment, and violence.
