For example, in its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hoyes.com\/press\/joe-debtor\/the-student-debtor\/\">Student Debt Crisis - A Generation Buried in Student Debt<\/a><span class=\"gnca-article-story-txt gn-speakable-description\"> report, bankruptcy trustees Hoyes Michalos revealed that nearly 18 per cent of the insolvency filings it handled in 2018 involved student debt. The <em>Globe and Mail<\/em> put a face to these statistics when it published a <a href=\"https:\/\/beta.theglobeandmail.com\/globe-investor\/personal-finance\/genymoney\/millennial-earning-24000-worries-about-20000-in-student-loans\/article36764581\/\">2017 story about a graduate who struggled to pay off her $20,000 college debt<\/a> while working at a job that paid $24,000 per year. <\/span>\r\n\r\n<span class=\"gnca-article-story-txt gn-speakable-description\">The education debt trend\u2014and the students it impacts\u2014is evident across Canada. Post-secondary professionals at York University and the University of Toronto in Ontario, for instance, expressed alarm in a <em>Globe and Mail<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/globe-investor\/personal-finance\/genymoney\/post-secondary-schools-look-to-address-mental-health-impact-of-rising-student-debt\/article30200722\">article about the mental health impact from education-related debt<\/a>.
