Creating a Document<\/h1>\r\n[pb_glossary id=\"463\"]Word processing[\/pb_glossary] - the use of a program (software application) running on a computer to create, edit, format, and store documents.\r\n

  1. Start Word<\/strong>.<\/li>\r\n \t
  2. Click the File<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\r\n \t
  3. Click New<\/strong> command.<\/li>\r\n \t
  4. Click\u00a0Blank document<\/strong>. A new blank\r\ndocument appears.<\/li>\r\n \t
  5. Type your document (text you\u00a0type\u00a0will be\r\ninserted into\u00a0the document).<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n

    Open an existing document<\/h2>\r\n

    2. Click the File<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\r\n \t

      <\/a>Check Spelling and Grammar<\/h1>\r\n

      1. Open an existing document.<\/li>\r\n \t
      2. Right-click a word that is underlined with a wavy line (that indicates a\r\nmisspelled word).<\/li>\r\n \t
      3. Select the\u00a0correct\u00a0spelling from the suggestion list (to change the spelling\r\nerror). For each error, Word will offer one or more\u00a0suggestions.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\"When\r\n

        1. Open an existing document.<\/li>\r\n \t
        2. Click the Review<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\r\n \t
        3. Click the Editor<\/strong> button (it may also be called Spelling & Grammar<\/strong>). If the program finds spelling errors, the Editor pane will\r\nappear.\"\"<\/li>\r\n \t
        4. Click one of the options from the suggestion list to change the spelling error.<\/li>\r\n \t

          5. If none of the synonyms is desired, click the Thesaurus<\/strong> command to open the full\r\nthesaurus. (The Thesaurus pane will appear.)<\/li>\r\n \t
          6. Find a desired word in the Thesaurus pane list and right-click it, or point to a desired\r\nword in the\u00a0Thesaurus pane gradient and\r\nclick the list arrow.<\/li>\r\n \t
          7. Click Insert [the desired word]<\/strong> on the menu\r\nthat opens.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\"The\r\n
