As GDP is a measure of commodities, the figure for each country is divided by the total population of the country in order to get the\u00a0per capita<em class=\"Italic\">.<\/em>\r\n\r\n<strong class=\"Bold\">Gross national income<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>(GNI):<\/strong> A measure of the income that flows into a country from production no matter where in the world companies from that country may be operating.\r\n\r\n<strong class=\"Bold\"><strong>Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD):\u00a0<\/strong><\/strong>An international economic organization with the mission\u00a0to promote policies that will improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world.\r\n\r\n<strong>Purchasing power parity<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>(PPP):<\/strong> A\u00a0tool that\u00a0calculates\u00a0how much the local currency of a country can buy locally (i.e., what you can\u00a0buy with CAD 20\u00a0Canada compared with\u00a0its equivalent in Colombia.\r\n\r\n<strong class=\"Bold\">Quality of life (QOL):\u00a0<\/strong>A measure of the general\u00a0well-being\u00a0of individuals and societies,\u00a0using\u00a0the indicators of income, wealth, employment, the built environment, physical and mental health, education, social belonging and leisure time.\u00a0QOL is used as a measurement in many fields including\u00a0international development, healthcare, politics and employment.\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n&nbsp;","rendered":"<div class=\"bcc-box bcc-success\">\n<h3>Key\u00a0 Terms<\/h3>\n<p><strong class=\"Bold\">Gross domestic product<\/strong>\u00a0(GDP):\u00a0An estimate of the total value of all materials, foodstuffs, goods and services that a country produces in one year.
