Activity 1<\/h2>\r\nWatch the documentary\u00a0The Fallen Feather:\u00a0Indian Industrial Residential Schools and Canadian Confederation.<\/em>\u00a0Write a critical reflection on the role of the residential schools in Canadian nation building.\r\n

Activity 2<\/h2>\r\nChoose one known\u00a0sacred place in your region\u00a0and make a presentation on\u00a0why this place is sacred, how it is being protected or what steps might be done to better protect it.\r\n

Activity 3<\/h2>\r\nChoose one of the ongoing treaty negotiations. Create a presentation that summarizes the historical claim, the process leading to negotiation and the status of negotiations.\r\n

Activity 4<\/h2>\r\nVolunteer with an organization that advocates for or go to an event that is about the experiences of Aboriginal communities. Write a critical reflection that analyzes the educational value of your experience, outlines the major things you learned and proposes ways to improve,\u00a0contribute or share the experience.\r\n

Activity 5<\/h2>\r\nComplete the following case study: Ethnobotany<\/a>. This case study aims to explore respectful ways to learn about and engage with traditional knowledge about plants found on the UBC campus, and the historical and contemporary relationships that occur between plants and people.\r\n
