About Morning Care

In the video scenario Morning Care, Edgar, a Health Care Assistant student, provides morning care to an 80-year-old female client who wears an incontinence brief. Edgar must also decide what to do about a change he notices in the client’s health and communicate with her in a professional way. You can move forward in the scenario by clicking the “Proceed” button at the top right of the screen.

At four points in the video scenario, you will be asked to select the best course of action or verbal response for different situations. You cannot move forward in the scenario until you have selected the correct answer. If you select an incorrect answer, the video will replay and then the questions will be displayed again.

This resource will help you assess your knowledge of the steps required to provide appropriate morning care to a client. It will also help you assess your knowledge of the skills needed for responding to a client’s changing health needs.

This video scenario assesses your knowledge of how to:

  • Respond appropriately to a client who is disoriented when the Health Care Assistant enters their room.
  • Follow appropriate steps when providing morning care to a client.
  • Determine the best response when noticing a change in the client’s health.
