How do you think this is done? If you guessed that it's the reverse of what we just did, then you are right. We\u2019ll start by going through an example dealing with fractions to decimals, and then move onto changing feet, inches, and fractions of an inch to feet and decimals of a foot.\r\n\r\nWhat we are looking to do is go from:\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">[latex]\\LARGE\\dfrac{1}{2}\\text{ to }0.5[\/latex]<span class=\"big\">\r\n<\/span><\/p>\r\nOnce again, the quick and easy way to do this is to go through a few examples. Start with a plain old fraction and work towards changing this into a decimal.\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">[latex]\\LARGE\\dfrac{3}{8}[\/latex]<\/p>\r\nThis can be done a number of ways, with the simplest being:\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">[latex]\\LARGE3\u00f78=0.375[\/latex]<\/p>\r\nYou could plug the numbers into your calculator, or you could use long division to come up with the answer.\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">That\u2019s it.
