Book Description: Note: This OpenStax book was imported into Pressbooks on July 22, 2019, to make it easier for instructors to edit, build upon, and remix the content. The OpenStax import process isn't perfect, so there are a number of formatting errors in the book that need attention. As such, we don't recommend you use this book in the classroom. This also means that, while the original version of this book is accessible, this Pressbooks copy is not.

Book Information

Book Description

U.S. History is designed to meet the scope and sequence requirements of most introductory courses. The text provides a balanced approach to U.S. history, considering the people, events, and ideas that have shaped the United States from both the top down (politics, economics, diplomacy) and bottom up (eyewitness accounts, lived experience). U.S. History covers key forces that form the American experience, with particular attention to issues of race, class, and gender.
