About This Video Scenario

In this video scenario, Elizabeth, a Health Care Assistant student, provides care to an 84-year-old male client in a long-term care facility. She must respond to the client’s request for medication and discuss her professional boundaries. You can move forward in the scenario by clicking the “Proceed” button at the top right of the screen.

At four points in the video scenario, you will be asked to select the best course of action or verbal responses for different situations. You cannot move forward in the scenario until you have selected the correct answer. If you select an incorrect answer, the video will replay and then the questions will be displayed again.

This resource will help you assess your knowledge of some of the roles and responsibilities of Health Care Assistant students. It will also help you assess your ability to provide care in a responsible and professional manner.

This video scenario assesses your knowledge of how to:

  • Identify HCA responsibilities relating to medication administration.
  • Maintain professional boundaries when providing care.
  • Communicate boundaries in a clear, respectful way to clients, their families, and members of the health care team.
