7 Back Matter

Last update: June 29, 2021

The following templates are for all of the required and optional back matter sections in open textbooks published by BCcampus. Authors may elect to include additional back matter pieces. This is also the order they should appear in the book. This content can be adjusted for non-Open Education projects.

Glossary (Optional)

If the book uses the Pressbooks Glossary tool, the glossary terms can be set up to display automatically in the back matter as follows:

  1. Create a new back matter section.
  2. Title the page “Glossary.”
  3. Set “Chapter Type” to “Glossary.”
  4. Save the page and leave the main content blank.

Acknowledgements (Optional)

The content for acknowledgements will vary from book to book.
