OE Sustainability Grant 2019 (BCcampus)

Create four new OER Fellow positions, each tasked with promoting awareness and increasing the utilization of open textbooks and OER. OER Fellow positions will be targeted specifically in the four new baccalaureate degree programs at Capilano where maximum benefit can be realized due to high enrolment (e.g., Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology, Bachelor of Arts with a major in English, and Bachelor of Human Kinetics).

Other Capilano initiatives will include:

  • The development of a faculty and student four-day open pedagogy sprint to create a repository of non-disposable assignments aligned with institutional experiential education learning requirements.
  • Creating an Open Education Showcase to raise awareness and interest in faculty and student open education work.
  • Providing ongoing support for Open Education through a series of workshops on Pressbooks and Creative Commons licensing, and by archiving open textbooks in Camosun’s institutional repository.
